I definitely see Frankenstein as a condemnation of the patriarchal/misogynistic disdain/disregard for nature and natural processes (typically associated with the feminine). Victor doesn’t give a shit about how Life actually works, ignores the beauty and complexity of Mother Earth. And finds out. 🔩

Hmm, I haven't seen the film so I can't engage much on that, but I can see a perspective from which Victor loses his mother so he becomes a mother, in a way. Fills the role to try to fill the void. I don't know, I'm still on my first cup of coffee, but that's my quick take.

2/? She further writes that Jared Leto's character "is consumed by rage that women can do something he cannot". Surely, Victor did not share these feelings in any way. Even if he did have any motives behind "creating life", I think we can all agree it might have been to "resurrect" his mother.
