There are times I wonder if our First Amendment jurisprudence might just be a little too broad. Not often. But sometimes. I don't know if moving the line is even worth it. But man is it hard to stomach that this stuff is legal.

Not sure that a public figure expressing genocide level hate should be first amendment protected.
If he said you were a rapist, that would be libel. If he said half your group of, say, twenty people were rapists, that would probably be libel as well… At what point does it become legally protected hate speech?
Is there a point at which the editorial boards of WaPo and NYT will blast this and call on him to drop out of the race? Is racism a big deal in this country, or re we just waiting around for violence? Trump and JD are going to show up in Springfield at some point, I just know it

We need to remember that not only is Trump unhinged, but he has savvy operatives and a loyal cult following who will hear these words as a call to serve their leader.
Is it protecting by the 1a because he’s saying “I feel angry about [lies]” rather than “let’s go commit crimes to stop [future lies] occurring”?
