Just a reminder with the holiday season approaching: If you offer someone a drink and they say, "No thanks, I don't drink" the correct response is not, "Why not?" or "Come on, just one!" or anything else like that. The only correct response is, "No worries. Can I get you anything else?"

I feel these so much!!! As a lifelong non-drinker, I have heard every variation of these and it makes me cringe every time. I've stopped going to some parties because of it. I don't need to spend my evening being pressured.

Why are people still offering people drinks as if we aren't all adults obv if we want a drink we will get one.

At my second job, people started drinking in the office and a coworker repeatedly accused me of being a Mormon because I said I don't drink.

Thank you so much for saying this, on behalf of someone who doesn’t drink!

Or, be ready with a set litany of a list that includes non-alcoholic beverages.

You could list the strains of fine weed that you have ijs

Every adult who doesn't drink alcohol has a good reason for not doing so

And to have at least one amazing mocktail ready to go so that the non-drinkers get to feel just as festive and included. It's amazingly easy and even people who drink will choose the festively garnished mocktail. And make sure to have things like seltzers and sodas on hand.

Amen! As a lifelong teetotaler I have been mocked at parties by those that choose to drink. I made my choice: please respect it.
