Charlie permits this hooligan to go unchased?!?
It's a great series if they're to your taste -- deep worldbuilding, some great characters, numerous POVs, lots and lots of braid-tugging. I've read the series several times and love it. If it's *not* spot on for you, then it's an enormous time sink. Though the hardbacks make excellent doorstops.
On a similar topic, but moving on a bit in time, have you caught Megalopolis yet? I saw it with a couple people over the weekend, and while we found it . . . challenging at times, we all enjoyed it. I'm surprised by the viciousness of some of the reviews, or is that just corporate Hollywood?
It's hard enough to keep up with the volume of incorrect information being produced by other humans -- accurate, precise AI could help sieve the junk. AI is a force multiplier capable of producing information (incorrect or not) at a pace we could only hope to supervise statistically (maybe).
If this friend's reaction is due to their being a Mexican food purist, I'm curious to know their thoughts as to your, um . . . , "burrito talents." 😉
