Well yes, each country should decide their immigration numbers. Cultural norms and cohesion are important to every country on earth

That’s because xenophobia wins votes.

Even if we didn't have a declining birth rate and a need of the workforce (and cultural boost) immigrants would bring - the callous treatment of migrants would be one of the biggest disgraces in contemporary Europe. Policies to kill.

Japan is currently in a recession because they're too racist to permit immigration of any kind, so their population is aging & shrinking.
