Oh yea, this happened to me too. It’s been a while, but I think in my case they also didn’t cite *any* other work and it was a smallish online-only publication. Was irked but I decided it wasn’t worth the fight (and I’m not averse to confrontation or anything, just felt there wasn’t enough upside)

Been meaning to try it out, I think this is the push I needed!

Wow, really cool work! This is something I've been thinking about for a while re: metrics generally, love the idea of making it a tool

makes sense! For me, the thing I often struggle with in older films is pacing. I took a TV writing class in college, and the prof noted how, today, Christopher Meloni can ask “Where was he that day?” on SVU and it cuts right to questioning the suspect. Before, you’d have a scene of them driving over

I haven't seen Seven Samuri since high school, but for my money, High and Low is an excellent introduction to Kurosawa. A gripping procedural thriller as tight as anything in the following 60 years. (Also it's an hour shorter)

Why Do Raccoons Wash Their Food?

It appears that thieving raccoons wash food when they dine near a body of water. Learn why raccoons wash food, and what this behavior really means.

don’t forget: -right to abortion enshrined in the constitution -per capita carbon emissions less than 1/3rd of the US -98% of employees covered by collective bargaining -mandatory maternity leave -a rail system that covers the distance from DC-Boston in half the time as Amtrak

Ooh, I've never seen this before. It hits

yes! I think they're more amenable to being embedded as well (appealing to the Ray Mooney quote cs.utexas.edu/~mooney/cramming.html)
