It's not that kind of famous, but my favorite painting in their permanent collection is "Russian Beauty with Cat". If you're ever in Omaha and you go to Joslyn Art Museum... you know Myst-era games where it'd be like HyperCard with an embedded video element in the middle of a static background?

Every time I see this painting in person, it's like everything inside the frame is more real than the wall behind it, like she's going to start moving, or already is, or was moving and stopped as soon as you noticed. It's eerie. It's captivating.
