July 4th is very rough on my dog (he is a royalist and considers George Washington a traitor)
A mistake we made was not having a constitutional monarch to do the ceremonial job of living in a palace, hosting banquets, being accompanied by a band while you cut ribbons. The American constitutional monarch should be the best dog in the country and we all vote when we need a new one.

My dog loooves celebrating his freedom to hump every gender of dog at the park and make friends with every random stranger on the street and get petted by all human hands at parties and has even tried to befriend cats tho' they torment him, so July 4th parties (well, all parties) are a fave of his.
