There’s an emerging pattern of actors getting cast in big, franchise IP very young, and then going on to do unusual, interesting work. It’s almost like, if artists don’t have to spend their entire lives scraping for a paycheck, they create interesting stuff.
That pattern goes back to actors such as John Cassavetes, who used paychecks from starring in films such as The Fury to fund his groundbreaking independent films.
Robert Pattinson doesn't really fit this pattern; he always had an interest in independent cinema. 'Twilight' was an aberration. A man has to eat.
