I wrote about the vice presidential debate and "Trumpism without Trump" newrepublic.com/article/1866...
The Ohio senator is already being praised for his performance at Tuesday’s debate. But the vision he outlined for the future of the country was dark and authoritarian.
I wrote about Donald Trump, who is finally starting to face the sinister forces he unleashed newrepublic.com/series/45/tr...
Trump has spent years stirring up and exploiting dark forces for political gain. Those forces are now out of control.
oh I got that! and I was agreeing with you haha. but yes, you're right on imo
yeah should have made that clearer (instead of being snide about influencers!) but it's clear that she just needs to be out there more and doing a bunch of *different* things mitigates the risks
read the piece!
TBF I also do not like this and hate the "to some implausible" bullshit... Don't think it defines the vast majority of coverage, don't think it makes people think Trump's sane, and I think the journalistic conventions that lead to it are defensible, even if they're also inadequate
we are in fact doing this quite a bit lol
I think a lot of this criticism is premised on the idea that the average Times reader is somehow not aware that Trump is bad and racist! They know! *Most* people know this. Talk to anti-Trump and pro-Trump voters and they will say the same thing (which is that he's crazy, the mileage just varies)
wait what did George R.R. Martin do
