I am known to buy books for the texture of their pages. And one of the first things I do when opening a book is smell it (which was a joy I temporarily lost during covid :(

I like the heft of a book. The shine. The cover art (especially vintage sf). The way they look. The stored potential energy of the words within. Books are damn sexy.
