I have seen the location of the part. There's no way I could tackle this by myself. I'm OK paying someone for something I have neither skill nor inclination to do myself.
Oh, that's worse than the power failure on Thanksgiving at my parents' house a number of years ago, with the turkey in the oven.
So the leak I thought was in the supply line for my hot-water heat turns out to be from the bottom of the dishwasher. A creaky but competent plumber tried all he could, but I'll have to pay for an appliance repair also, or maybe even a new dishwasher. Oh well, I can handwash dishes for a few days.
In today's major accomplishment, I successfully replaced the batteries in the outdoor sensor for my indoor/outdoor thermometer and reset the indoor unit to resync with the sensor. I thank past me for having the right batteries on hand, and I'm grateful that I didn't have to replace the whole system.
And it removes the agency of whoever fired, by not explicitly mentioning "another officer". So, in the class of "mistakes were made".
Decent quality shredded cheese is mine. Yes, it has something to prevent clumping, but having a bag of cheese in the fridge means I have an easy source of protein to add to a salad.
I have been avoiding going to the gym for too long. I'm going to grab a granola bar and my earbuds, and just do it! This is an accountability post.
But which wall switch? Or worse, which *combination* of wall switches?
