Yeah, nobody really gave a crap about the last sentence of the 12th Amendment when she ran for vice president. The "natural-born American" vs "natural-born citizen" debate has never been serious. History of American presidential campaigns is full of people who don't meet that silly ideal.
John McCain was born in Panama, and in the GOP primaries his whispering opponents said this made him ineligible.
