I wish people understood that "do not feed the trolls" doesn't mean "ignore them and hope they'll go away." It means don't give them oxygen; report their comments, block them from your spaces, kick them out. Remove them from your spaces without giving them the petty argument they're looking for.

Maybe if, instead of "do not feed the trolls" (a negative - a thing to avoid doing), we started saying "starve the trolls" (an active, deliberate behavior), people would understand the point more. Actively deny them recognition.
