Awesome, have fun!
I'm more of a 1 of each instrument guy than a 200 slightly different guitars guy. But every now and then I long for a 'home' guitar
We were lucky enough to perform last year, it was a blast. The whole thing is quite intense, definitely an experience worth having. Check out the campfire jam! They're wonderful folks.
Have fun at FMO! Are you performing?
I do have my old Simon and Patrick, but I don't like to play it, so it doesn't count? 😅
Oh yeah, any self-respecting mandolin player has 1 of each type 🤣
Ugh I want a second guitar 😩 But I'm starting to feel like I actually could use a new mandolin. The one I have is a beautiful, unique, handmade one, and I think it needs new tuning pegs, and I really shouldn't do that to this mandolin. I think one day it'll retire as wall art (affectionately).
Cooooool! I know it was often used in jazz back in the day, maybe that's another way to look for resources. There were apparently tenor and plectrum style banjos ones used in jazz back then.
Not a lot of folks play that style anymore! It's awesome to see someone trying to get into it. Good luck! Unfortunately, I don't really have any suggestions for resources. Have you tried the banjo hangout forum?
Yeah... that's certainly possible. And it also obviously depends on what your goals are - if you're just having fun playing shows or jamming with buds, then it truly doesn't matter. But it might mean that it holds you back from getting more success, just depends if that's what you're looking for.
