Not much to post on here lately. I'm fully invested, the market is doing nothing until the budget is over and neither am I. I am looking forward to getting past it and I'm quietly optimistic we can finish the year strong. That's obviously more of a hope than a prediction. 🤞🏻
Down a shocking 0.2% the last quarter. Up 11.48%ytd. Its felt a bit of a slog lately. 1 step forward, 1 back. A good week then a poor week. A share goes up, another comes down. I'm happy with all my holdings though (a couple on the naughty step) so 🤞🏻 for a good last qt.
If anyone on here lives on their investment returns and would like to share how they calculate their withdrawal %, I'd love to hear it. 3-4% SWR is standard for index investors but active investors? Who can beat the market? How do you get the balance right?
Now 98% invested. On balance I'm more bullish than not. I think there are some decent companies around that are not exactly looking toppy. Still room to grow. I'm also relatively relaxed about the budget. A lot of fear about which is the time to be buying. If only there were an apt quote...
I find the AIM 100 a good gauge of uk small cap market sentiment. That 3550ish level seems like support. Be interesting to see if it bounces or breaks next week. If it breaks could we see it back down to 3200? Or even covid lows?
Market feels a bit indecisive right now. I guess with the USA election and upcoming budget a lot of people are keeping powder dry. I plan to sit through it, but if I do sell anything and have some cash I'll probably sit on that (unless a real bargain comes up).
I remember the good old days when Stockopedia SCVR had quite a strict "no politics" rule in the comments. That was nice.
