Bluesky loves alt text! Many of us try not to re-post images with no alt text so captioning your images will help with your reach. It took me awhile to get the habit but now it feels weird to not do it and even weirder when others don’t. 🧡

“But are there really that many people who need alt text?” More than you know, but it would be worth doing if there were only one! And! Have you never watched TV with the captions on bc it’s more comfortable? Alt captions increase legibility and provide context for everyone.

I don’t repost images without alt text. I’m definitely one of those people. Sometimes I will if I have the gray matter to write a good description in my share text. A couple old friends and colleagues have joined, and I would love to share more of their stuff

Under Settings > Accessibility Settings you can configure things so it won't let you post images without alt text. That way you can never forget.
