This is a separate but related issue: I was stunned to find some students didn’t know how to save or upload a file. Like they’d try to send me a link to their google docs without changing permissions. Which makes sense when you realize how many are working from phones & iPads, but it rattled me.

One student attached "files" on Moodle as assignment responses, but they were some sort of Google Drive link as a file I couldn't open, and then when prompted to send me the actual file, sent me screenshots of the Google Docs file. REPEATEDLY. It was... Yeah.

We see this so much in Psychology. I'm also seeing a lack of skill in close reading when it comes to historical sources in my 4th year history of psychology seminar. A few students can do it really well, but a lot of them struggle severely.
