I have such a visceral memory of sitting with my college roommate in 2014 (who is from Gaza) and her trying to read it to us and not being able to get through it because she kept laugh-crying and I feel so so so angry and helpless that it's a full decade later and it's just gotten worse and worse.

I read Sarah Shulman’s CONFLICT IS NOT ABUSE in early 2021 and it has been on my mind the past year particularly because of its whole section on the 2014 conflict. We are all as apophenic as a haruspex sometimes and need to recognize it!
