DRI is still fun at 66,500 words, but I'm starting to get brain-tired, and there's so much left to go.
I'm loving my DRI outline so much. There's a lot of dialogue, and I'm naturalistic about it, so sometimes I forget *why* this particular scene is here, but for every scene, I made sure to write *what* needed to be included and *why*. Keeps me focused.
A cicada killer keeps bonking against our window, trying to get in. It's a mostly placid wasp, but it's so big you can see the stinger and looks like Satan's teacup poodle, so I'm really glad she can't get in.
I give all my little separate documents for the DRI their own descriptions like chapter titles. These will never see the final product, but I love the inside joke of them.
Just me writing 7K words in a day when 5K is usually my max and wondering why I'm so tired.
DRI: 50,785/100,000? words I don't think I'm even halfway through, though. This was *supposed* to be a tight, short, modern reimagining. Geez.

I'm at 43K words on the DRI, and I'm only about 2 pages of outline crossed off, and I'm adding stuff in, oh no, I think I've made a grave error...
I've become slightly obsessed with a prepackaged salad, which I suppose isn't such a terrible thing to become obsessed with.
