I’m very struck by the fact that kids who grow up in the TFL zone have basically free and highly efficient transport over a huge area whereas in other parts of the country our kids have to pay a lot of money for infrequent and unreliable transport. The impact that has on your horizons must be huge.

Yeah I was impressed, there was a nice balance of "just get me going" and "here's a bunch of config options if you do want to get in the weeds". I can see me using it to spin up a bunch of side projects, thanks 👍

Finally the droplet on digital ocean was dead simple to setup but took me a couple of hours to navigate my way around nginx and set it up correctly for a sub-domain, (most of the documentation was geared towards a primary domain). It should cost around $8 pm but will depend on usage.
Looked at a couple of Saas platforms from the thread but can't justify the cost right now, also content lock in is a worry.

Yeah agreed before the flip phone my other one was ancient, if it stays in one piece I'm expecting many years out of the open before an upgrade
