#werewolfhistoryproject : 90’s Kids Finding hold in several mass book series that introduced many a kid to scary stories (alongside several TV anthology shows), werewolves have become a staple of the Halloween monster hall of fame and a favourite of seasonal lawn décor makers everywhere.
#werewolfhistoryproject- 80’s Film Advancements in Special Effects allowed for filmmakers and creatives to really push the horror of transformation. Most notably Rick Baker’s work in An American Werewolf in London, as well as The Howling, Silver Bullet, The Company of Wolves, or Teen Wolf I suppose.
#werewolfhistoryproject- Early Film Curiously, werewolf mythos does not have a consistent history of “rules” and origins like the similar figure of the vampire does. Most of what constitutes modern understanding of werewolf stories comes quite recently through early film in the 1920’s to 40’s.
Werewolf History Project- Medieval Bisclavret, or the Lay of the Were-Wolf was written by Marie of France in the 12th century. It’s a very unusual story for its time, where the werewolf is not a force of evil, but sympathetic and cursed. And also smooches the king. #werewolfhistoryproject
Werewolf History Project: Prehistory- First part of a project looking at the history of werewolves and werewolf myths! Starting with early prehistory and the emergence of stories, especially the advent of animal/human figures. #werewolfhistoryproject
