I've got some of the same apprehensions, but boy it is so much better than any of the other Ito adaptations. I am still cautiously optimistic!

i mean, the way it captures the imagery in animation is genuinely amazing, and it actually hits as horror in a way other adaptations do not. definitely worth watching, even with my qualms.
