THE DAY OF THE LOCUST is a neo-noir, a period movie, and a genuine noir as the first adaptation of Nathaniel West's quintessential "Hollywood is Hell" novel. All about grasping actors, grasping fans and what a weird, broken, perverse town Hollywood is. William Atherton leads a stacked cast. Classic.

From the 1975 adaptation of Nathaniel West's 1939 novel of the same name, The Day of the Locust: Karen Black as Faye Greener with Donald Sutherland as Homer Simpson; Goya-like visions of Hollywood citizens as demonic entities; William Atherton as Tod Hackett caught in a riot; Jackie Earle Hayley as Adore Loomis in a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit

William Atherton plays completely opposite to his 80s personality, along w/ Karen Black, Donald Sutherland, Geraldine Page, Billy Barty, Jackie Earle Haley, Bo Hopkins...it's a wildly great cast. Toss on BARTON FINK and MULHOLLAND DRIVE after to finish off a surreal Hollywood is Hell triple feature.
