It’s definitely wildly disproportionate. My guess would be it comes from a combination of (1) TERF ideology that trans men would actually just be women who have misidentified themselves, and (2) bigoted men not having the ‘worry’ they do with trans women of finding them attractive.

Ugh, yes I suspect there’s a fair bit of “being a man has obvious benefits so of course AFAB people are trying to tap into that” vs “the only reason we can imagine AMAB people giving up male privilege is to do something nefarious”
