The default Bluesky settings are kind of bad? Here's my advice for making it better. In the Settings, go to Home Feed Preferences: Reply Filters and turn on "Followed Users Only" to mimic old Twitter behavior, only showing replies in your home feed when you follow both people.

- Turn on "Show Posts from My Feeds" to show samples of posts from the feeds you subscribe to. - Go to Thread Preferences, and sort replies by Most-liked replies first, and turn on Threaded mode. - Go to Settings: External Media Preferences and turn on any services you want to see embeds for.

I fiddled with these settings for a while but for whatever reason the NUMBER of replies in my feed has finally just gotten overwhelming and I turned them off entirely. People are having longer conversations, which is good, but it means lots more replies.
