I'm off to a decent start to meeting two big goals this week. I want to finish the rough draft of a short story I'm currently calling Polyamorous Lesbian Dragons in Space, and I want to finish a read-through with minor edits of the novel Shadow Kiss. And maybe clean the house? #queerwriters

Just witnessed an anti-trans Trump ad. And while I could simply be offended by it, I'm electing to snicker over his campaign spending money telling SEATTLE that Kamala supports trans people and he's a threat to them.

Spruce Pine is my mother's hometown. I could tell people that before I was old enough to tell them my address. And couldn't understand why people had never heard of it. That bridge was high enough it scared me back then. I remember screaming my throat sore over not wanting to cross it.
My pets all recognize the sound my phone makes when someone enters my driveway. It just triggered for someone turning around and now my dog is sad. I suspect the cats are relieved though.
Pretty much my mom's entire family lives in the area. News has been trickling in from them and the devastation is massive to a degree that's challenging to comprehend. If you can offer help, there are a lot of people who need it.
