Scream "A. Ghost" in your hearts.
Just some late decorating for the holiday, nothing wrong with that.
Both amazing choices! Add Volumes and Open Books to the list. But also, The Book Table in Oak Park (right off the Green Line at Harlem/Lake) just announced it was closing, so it'd be worth heading there. And while you're close by, check out Centuries & Sleuths in Forest Park.
When did you adopt a friend for Cosmo, and why are you giving them away so soon?
H insisted that I add: you need to make it to the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Rembrandt House Museum, and the Rijksmuseum (plus its incredible RIJKS restaurant). But I feel like these would already be on your radar.
Anyway, hugs.
Loved the canal tour with Those Dam Boat Guys (BYOB). Also, make sure to go to the Museum of the Canals! Because it is a fever dream you should not miss.
Random smattering of other restaurants I liked: Winkel 43 (apple pie), Restaurant 't Zwaantje (traditional Dutch), Bacalar (fancy Mexican), Box Sociaal (Australian brunch), Sampurna (Indonesian).
Get frietjes from a shop, and get the patatje oorlog if you're adventurous. (For shops, I liked Fabel Friet and Patat Steeg). Go to a street market and find fresh made stroopwafels and poffertjes.
