They need to start by getting rid of the fiction that food delivery couriers aren’t employees, & make it the responsibility of the delivery companies to ensure their riders’ vehicles are road legal and properly insured. Doing so would make it safer for the riders & safer for the public #GigEconomy

Restaurants desperately need to work out how best to serve Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats while not impeding on the experience of customers eating in/ordering in-store. And the platforms™️ and restaurants need to take ownership of the unintended consequences their service creates on high streets.
