(FWIW, I'm not defending *that* new theropod; I'm quite skeptical of it, in fact -- I'm just saying that the complete lack of nuance in most discourse at this point verges on unscientific)

(also, I know full well that social media is not the stronghold of nuance, but I do like to grouch a bit...taxonomic nihilism is up there with ontogenetic nihilism on my list of paleontological pet peeves)
