Saw a magazine review today where the reviewer went out of his way to call out an author's bio, saying: "I had one problem... It was the most political statement I had read in almost 50 years of reading science fiction magazines. I don't think that was the place for it." What would be the place?
Science Fiction is THE most political genre I can think of offhand.
says a lot about what their politics are that they have missed all the politics that they agree with in 5 decades of SF magazines
Was this Tangent Online?
This reviewer's comment sounds suspiciously like "I don't think there is any place for political views. Unless I agree with them."
pretty sure it historically has been the primary place for it
The Author Bio is the primary place for an author to promote what they want and care about. They should to be free to peacefully protest a genocide on there as much as they should be free to promote their books and awards.
Tattooed on the inside of the critics' eyelids?
I guessed what he had an issue with even before I got to your second skeet. We are truly living in a “masks off” era 🚬
A fish discovering what water is. Poor guy read a book that made them think and was uncomfortable. What a sad puppy.
