I think a lot about how men conceptualize masculinity. It's something I'm regularly discussing with my trans masc clients, who come to the task with an explicit awareness of the constructed aspects of masculinity, an awareness which is mostly unavailable to cisgender men.

I sincerely believe that the work of becoming conscious of and thus changing our understandings of masculinity (and with it, the socialization practices that both prop up masculinity and prevent us from examining it), underlies everything else we need to do to survive as a species.
