Twitter has disintegrated into a slanging match tonight. After many people paying tribute to Alex Salmond, there are just as many, or more, tearing into Nicola Sturgeon and SNP. I understand their ire, but I can't read any more because it just emphasises that the Yes movement is broken.
He tweeted, "Scotland is a country, not a county." I think these are words that will be remembered and repeated.
Well, this is absolutely guttin'. I met him a cpl of times & he was always approachable & kind to me. People make mistakes, we're aw trying tae get thru life as best we can. He brought Scotland into the light, showed us an exciting alternative future & I commend him for that. #RIPAlexSalmond 🏴💙
They have had stuff in the shops since August it is ludicrous..
It is galling that these politicians are accepting free gifts and "hospitality " while saying they need to cut money from the elderly and the sick to balance the books. Cutting their expenses and getting rid of half of the Lords would save a fortune.
Absolutely not!
Starmer, et al make these sweeping statements about what "the people" think or want. What they mean is the statement refers to their opinion and what they want. It wouldn't occur to them to ask their constituents, whom they represent, for an opinion.
Stunning.
It is much calmer here than twitter. Know what you mean with the god-fearing type.
