it finally rained, slightly, for 5 minutes
so anyway, i shouldn't be surprised that i can't find any energy to draw but it sucks so much just keep waiting for the rain, but it never comes...
sketched this while waiting for the rain more than a month ago. the forecast was promising a rain for days but it wouldn't come it rained later that day for like 5 minutes. then at night a thunderstorm knocked out electricity, killing AC and most of the stuff in the fridge this is (not) fine
these 3 months of non-stop heatwave pretty much destroyed both my ability and my will to exist, especially considering that every next summer will be worse used to love summer, used to go to the park and draw outside. now it's constant +35C, and a short dog walk kills all my joints for the day ugh
Happy birthday! 🎉 And thank you for sharing your beautiful art with us! Love your brush work, very dynamic and expressive 💖
and, of course, environments. establishing shots make really nice chapter icons also this fine selection shows how with recent chapters i moved from inking everything to just kinda painting vague shapes as backdrop, both for worldbuilding reasons (humid, polluted place) and for creepy foggy vibes
choosing which panel to use as a preview is such a balancing act tho. it should look nice and interesting and crop neatly into a square without any lettering visible while not spoiling too much. so the most dramatic stuff never even has a preview. but some of these pics come close
oh, btw, i was drawing, among other things, a character with an already injured dominant hand getting some more damage to the same arm. ironic.jpg
probably should delete this in the morning. being authentic and open is good they say, but i'd rather not be perceived as a mortal entity in a chronically ill meatsack even if i am
funny enough, it doesn't really limit mobility, it's just very painful regardless if i'm using the hand or not. so theoretically i'll be able to draw tomorrow even if it continues, but rn i can't even sleep because the pain is too much despite an ungodly amount of ibuprofen
