Still have my Big Bad Voo Doo Daddies debut album. Never learned to dance, but man that genre is fun (think I still have a Brian Setzer Orchestra album too) 🎶
boosting #forTinu who always boosted others in need💸💞
from gfm: Her family needs our help for funeral, medical expenses, housing, loss of income and other costs. Tinu's family needs our support, she was there for various communities and it's our turn to help her back by supporting her family. Please share this fundraiser with the hashtag #ForTinu
In loving memory of Atinuke Abayomi Paul (Tinu), beloved daughter, gran… Brooke Crume needs your support for Honoring Tinu's Legacy with Compassionate Support
Extremely sad to hear about @tinu.bsky.social's passing. We were not close but I've always respected her & in particular, I always noticed how kind she was in her interactions. Her death was preventable if only her healthcare workers had masked up. This is a massive loss for the disabled community.
Im so, so sorry 💚
capitalism killed Atinuke Abayomi-Paul aka tinu. she caught covid DURING HER CHEMOTHERAPY for cancer because the medical staff refused to mask. we are devastated. we are angry. we are heartbroken. wear a fucking mask!
I don't know what i can add that hasn't already been said This is awful and it's unfair and she deserved better and I hope her loved ones can find some peace 💔
I really want people to understand that this is just as awful and upsetting and invasive for a trans girl as it would be for a cis girl under the same scrutiny. Because when it happens to cis girls/women people get upset, but when it’s an actual trans girl somehow it’s “complicated.” It’s not.
Good, sobering thread 👇🏻
I do not have the bandwidth to blog a full rejoinder to Zeynep's latest NYT piece. So I'm gonna write it as a quick thread instead. Her thesis is that the effectiveness of mass protest (particularly campus protest) has waned, and social media is the main culprit. www.nytimes.com/2024/09/21/o...
It’s time for organizers to invent a new model.
