There are artistic projects I can imagine that involve working with LLM-produced material. Just like there are collages, found-material art, etc. But none of these are "shortcuts" because the artist has to do the thinking about what they want out of the project. Which is the part the LLM can't do.

In theory it's possible to use an LLM to explore/examine/critique LLMs, but this isn't what's happening at Uncanny or Clarkesworld, nor is it even remotely what most AI boosters want out of it. The boosters just want free art.
I have started writing. I've got a lot of ideas, but I don't have a lot of experience with "the Craft" of writing. I'm using LLMs as an editor. Making sure my tone is consistent and I don't trip over my own plot lines. There is a lot of writing outside of what's on the page to make that work
