a short thread of bikes I eventually want to ride/own (kinda my dream garage): first up, what will likely be my next bike if I can ever afford to upgrade, a 2022+ Yamaha XSR900 just a great all-around street bike with a great engine and good looks, and the 2nd gen handles so wonderfully
also, I’m still gonna try and keep my patreon going, though there will likely be a lot more bike and car content on it in addition to sci-fi fiction and science and engineering discussion; I discovered my wacom tablet is broken, so I gotta get it fixed before I can really do much art for my patrons

I like riding bikes because it’s more fun than driving a car, more visceral, you feel more connected to the vehicle, you just look cooler than someone in a car or truck, and motorcycles have a far smaller eco footprint than cars, especially when so many of y’all commute solo

I’m a motorcycle and car enthusiast, so working as a mechanic with a friend who’s also a bike and car enthusiast will hopefully lead to me getting to work on and drive a lotta cool cars, and eventually make me enough money so that I can upgrade to a newer bike than my ‘01 SV650
gonna try to start posting more over here now and see if my posts start finally get some interaction for a change
so a friend of mine recently started a new business and he’s hired me on to be a part time mechanic, helping him buy, fix up, and sell used cars- I hope this means I’ll never have to beg for donations again!
