This is a really great piece. However, I really wish that when this was happening to black women online on Twitter ( me included) back in 2010 and beyond folks would have paid attention. We were the canaries in the coal mine and all the things that you've experienced we went through earlier.

It says a lot about the NYTimes that it needed a man's lived experience to validate the story--even waiting 13 years to miss the scoop.

Thank you, and, I agree. There's a whole history to these practices that goes far beyond my experience; the 9000 word version of this piece starts to get into that... but alas, word limits.
