Surely R2P is dead because it is dead empirically; the international society of states failed to protest let alone prevent genocide. Either we need new ontological starting points-buhbye IR-or a serious, Arendt level study of why states failed.

Your duty is to science, not fantasy “options”! The IPCC’s 1.5 report stated CDR is not proven but still spammed their carbon reduction pathways with it. For a coin toss probability of 1.5! Who is playing dice with the planet now?

Would you be willing to condemn states who drafted the Glasgow climate pact & later COP outcomes which pseudoscientifically claimed 1.5C could be met by global net zero by 2050? That IPCC pathway in 2018 was dodgy enough.

I think optimism is different from hope, especially if we realise hope is something we build and make in the real world. It’s not an emotion we can buy at any market. So I hope in the face of my fear.
