Yeah, they're pretty tall. They look really cool standing high on top of the cacti, sometimes in pairs. Unfortunately, I didn't have a long enough lens with me to capture that.
No one warned us about any danger, but I believe it! Most of our sightings were from inside the car, however. These ones in the sand were pretty chill - hanging out with the pigs near the beach. They didn't want anything to do with people.
They didn't seem dangerous and mostly stayed clear of people, but they certainly have large and powerful beaks, so you probably don't want to get into a fight with one!
Whoa, that's not a chicken! Beware when driving in Curacao - Crested Caracara frequently run across the road like chickens and roosters! Sadly, all my photos are in the shade. According to Allaboutbirds.com#birds
