Hahahahaha, that would be incredibly terrifying, although they are probably smarter than the average motorist. 😂They actually perch on utility wires with a nut in their beak, and then wait until a car is coming to drop the nut to (ideally) be crushed!
To be fair, this is the technique a lot of crows in out neighborhood employ, more or less!

These were very faint due to both cloud cover and light pollution, but still visible! I caught them out of the corner of my eye as I was about to give up and leave the park. Part of what threw me for a loop is the fact that they first appeared most prominently in the NE rather than due N.
I finally sawwwww them! (Even through the clouds!) This was in intensely light-polluted Central Portland, so it must have been pretty cool elsewheres!
