Really wondering about where the line is to leave the other place. I am concerned about next yearâs election given Musk putting his finger on the scale in Turkey, etc. There is a line where the harm of unchecked disinfo exceeds the benefits of direct, authentic communication. Itâs really sad
I feel like the line has been crossed this month or soâitâs frustrating, but probably worthwhile to switch platforms completely. The downside is that the echo-chamber becomes even more of a bubble that way
The distorted blue check influence with media and less plugged in/tech savvy users is deeply concerning.
Two things AOC, promote bsky when it becomes public! AND equally as important, use your influence to pressure bsky into building and maintaining a platform that stops misinfo and hate
His abuse of you and so many others made the decision easy for me, but I get that in your position it's a different equation. Hopefully we can get to a better place sooner than later where the other place shrivels to truth social proportions and Bluesky and other AT Protocol sites thrive.
The line was Elon acquiring Twitter. Why are you still there?
Whatâs your password
I'd offer that if enough high-profile people left in protest, it would probably finish off the perceived legitimacy of that site. I honestly don't think twitter has long left in any case
I think itâs passed. Time to go.
I wouldn't drop it completely if I were someone with a larger stage because it is important to get good information out there, but I'd definitely start to cut off direct communications and start to push people towards the new platform. I think of it as like the initial push from MySpace to Facebook.
Community notes seems to be backing you if itâs any consolation. The other account was labeled âparodyâ but WAY past your name, so it didnât appear for mobile users on their timelines unless they clicked the tweet. Sorta defeats the whole labeling thing if itâs not discernible en masse
