Sleeper trains are once again in the news, find out how I fared on my journey earlier this month on an รBB Nightjet from Vienna to Brussels (spoiler: not particularly well) > aplantogo.com/2023/12/12/v...
My assessment of the รBB Nightjet Vienna to Brussels sleeper train journey
Final travel tally this year* (although not quite done with trains): โ๏ธ: 16,853km ๐: 7,235km ๐: 2,082km ๐: 582km Countries visited: ๐ฉ๐ฐ ๐ณ๐ฑ ๐น๐ณ ๐ฌ๐ง ๐ฆ๐ฟ ๐ฌ๐ช ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐น ๐ง๐ช ๐ช๐ธ *Does not include travelling around my home city Would like to get flights down to half of total distance in 2024.
I've broken a record: plane arrived at LHR at 21:40, I'm in bed exactly two hours later
Was not expecting this: managed to secure very discounted last minute tickets to the Viennese opera (La Boheme tonight)
That should read 'taxi', not look. Not many people looking at me, many, many people looking for taxis
Another trip to the airport, another issue with public transport. This time: no Elizabeth Line and a trackside fire on the Piccadilly Line which has resulted in me unexpectedly getting a look at Acton
Kind of good news
Decision taken: No Eurostar trains from the Netherlands to London between June and December 2024. "By temporarily discontinuing the connection, up to 21 extra aircraft would take to the air every day, it was previously calculated." The service from London continues as usual. nos.nl/artikel/2499...
Door werkzaamheden kan de Eurostar tijdelijk niet vanaf station Amsterdam CS vertrekken. Overleg over een alternatief is niet gelukt.
Not sure why P&O Cruises distanced themselves from P&O Ferries last year over fire and rehire practices, only to then engage in the same practice themselves
Guess I won't be going to live in Argentina after all
