Authors I have taught in the last year to state sch children, 11-18: Orwell, Tennyson, Keats, Wordsworth, Dickens, Larkin, Shakespeare. All apart from Larkin are on GCSE specs (and maybe he is on a diff spec). I didn't teach Chaucer, my A level co-teacher did (it's on the spec). Full nonsense.

'Born Yesterday' was on the AQA GCSE spec when I was teaching (may well be still) so I think you've got a full house there.
