Doesn't AI absorb human biases, because it is trained on the writing of humans?

Attending conference workshops on the implications of AI for editors and writers and for society in general. A wonderful phrase has just been added to my lexicon: "enshittification of the internet" (coined by Gary Marcus). As if the internet hadn't been thoroughly enshittified already. 🙄
