Sometimes a community writing project says that by a certain date you need to be at 1500 words minimum, and then you go look at your document and realize you’re at 30k words, and that’s fine. That’s normal.
Update: I need to be at 3k by mid-April. I just finished my first draft at just shy of 50k. I think I met the brief? I think I’ve done it?
