Jack Kirby took the baton from Planet of the Apes to run far with Kamandi. It's heavy-handed but he kills it with his observations on empire, colonialism, & resource extraction in a kid comic. I love him so.
I knew Akutagawa as the Rashomon guy, yet don'trecall reading him. Maybe The Book of Fantasy collection? Kappa is wry, pithy satire. I'm eager to see what his other work is.
