I took several cuttings from the lovely #rose bushes in my old house back in May ahead of moving. The only things I was really sorry to leave behind. 3 of the 4 have taken and I've even had one bloom this year. Very unexpected. Hoping they survive the winter. Tips welcome 🤞🌹

Sadly Hope-Taylor died before he was able to write up his excavations & we were left with only a partial physical archive. These two finds are an example of some of the material assemblage and tags we have. Our own excavations were conducted in part to provide context for the H-T archive 2/2

As a Co-director of the Bamburgh Research Project we are slowly shifting our efforts towards more post-ex focussed work and training. Last week we had the opportunity to begin our reassessment of the Hope-Taylor archive, which we are working to incorporate into our own so we can report on both 1/2🏺

Had the chance to learn how to make a Welsh Fan and Neck. Tricky but got into the flow (eventually). Thank you Paula Constantine for the impromptu lesson 🌾🌾🌾

Views from the Bamburgh Research Project office this morning 🏺 Windy but beautiful. Full steam ahead with our finds illustration workshop ✏️✍️

And here's the outcome of combining all those materials and techniques at the Scottish Crannog Centre (plus a view of Loch Tay where the new Crannog will be built). Looking forward to seeing the next phase of the build and how the new buildings bed-in over the winter 🤩🛖🏺

Three photos. Top two of roundhouses and wooden structures. Bottom is Loch Tay with posts emerging from water and hills in the background.
