A team of volunteer archaeologists in Normandy has had a surprise communication from the past.
"Hey, let me out!"
One of my soils profs always left a new penny in the bottom of an exploratory pit so that future archeology might at least know when it was dug. Not that it would help with *why,* mind you...maybe we should've left notes in bottles!
