Cooking stew in a replica Oneota pot (ca. 1300-1600 CE), archaeologically connected to ancestors of the Ioway and Otoe nations, and related Native American tribes- the stew is a traditional Hidatsa recipe from Buffalo Bird Woman’s Garden with squash, corn, sunflowers and beans.

Cooking wild rice and blueberries in a replica Kathio pot (ca. 800-1200 CE) at Kathio Archaeology Day, part of Minnesota Archaeology Month - the pot was made by an archaeologist/artist based on a study of artifacts. Kathio pottery was used by ancestors of the Dakota Nation.
